About the RI GED

For all of them who are willing to have a good career in future, General Education Development exam, also called as GED exam of Rhode Island is very helpful as it gives you good opportunity to stand head among all the competitors.

Format of GED exam: This exam comprises of 5 different sections like Writing skills (divided into Part 1 and Part 2), Arts and Literature, Science, Mathematics and Social Studies. The test is of multiple choice patterns and it lasts for 7 hours and 35 minutes. In part 2 of writing skill, you need to write an essay within 45 minutes.

How is the scoring done? : The minimum score you can get in all the sections is 200 which is the lowest and 800 is the highest. For getting through the test you need earn 410 score in each section and over all of 2250 score.

Eligibility: It is best to reach out the nearest testing center to check whether you are eligible to take the RI GED exam or not. Generally if you are above 18 years of age and resident of Rhode Island who have not yet graduated is allowed to take up the exam. Those who have joined the under graduation now can also take up the exams.

The rate varies and it is best to reach out the nearest testing center and speak with the personals to get the updated cost of the exam.

Preparation for GED: This examination is not that easy to get through and it needs lot of preparation. Elementary and Secondary education of Rhode Island have mentioned that 30 percent of graduating seniors could not pass the examination completely. Even though this figure scares you a bit, there is no need to worry much as till date from 1971, we can see that more 60,000 diploma certifications have been issued from the RI board.
